NCAA meets airport security chiefs over terrorist threats

THE Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Dr. Harold Demuren, Monday presided over a special meeting of security operatives at the Lagos Airport in the wake of the crisis in Mali and threats of attacks on Nigeria by the Al-Qeada terrorist network.

In attendance were the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigeria Air Force, Nigeria Police, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service and Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
Others were Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Director of Security and his team, Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, State Security Service (SSS), the NCAA’s Aviation Security team led by its Director. Mr. Joyce Nkem.
Demuren emphasised the need for all the operatives to be alert so as not to allow any security breach at nation’s main gateway.
